Websites and SEO for UK builders

A website that wins the extension, not the small job

Homeowners planning an extension, a loft or a full renovation look you up before they ring, even when a neighbour gave them your name. We build the site that answers what they are checking for: the jobs you do, the photos that prove it, the towns you cover, and a quote form that reaches you on site.

What a homeowner checks

  • Have you done this kind of job before, with photos
  • Do you work in their town
  • Is there a number that answers, and reviews behind it

Where a builder's work comes from

Three routes to the same homeowner, and one website behind all of them

Word of mouth, the platforms and Google send the same person. Each of them ends at your website, or at a competitor's if you do not have one worth landing on.

01

Word of mouth

The neighbour gives your name. The homeowner searches it, finds a site with photos and a form, and rings. Or finds nothing and rings the second name they were given.

The site that closes the recommendation

02

Checkatrade and MyBuilder

Useful early, expensive later, and every lead is shared with three other firms. The site is where you stop paying per lead: the profile links to it, and the homeowner books there.

Platforms or your own site

03

Google

The map for the town, the results for the job. 'Extension builders Chester' is won by a page about extensions in Chester, with photos of one, not by a homepage that says 'all aspects of building work'.

SEO for builders

What we build

The site, the profile, and the pages that keep earning

Most builders we look at have one page that says everything and shows nothing. We build the opposite: a page per kind of job with photos of that job, the towns named, and a way to ask for a quote that works from a phone on a driveway.

See the packages
  • A page for every kind of job

Extensions, lofts, renovations, garage conversions, groundworks. Each with what is involved, what decides the price, the towns, and three photos of one you did.

    How it works
  • Projects that prove it

Before, during and after. A short write-up in your words: what the client wanted, what was awkward, how long it took. The page a homeowner sends to their partner.

    How it works
  • Google Business Profile and reviews

A service-area profile set up for the jobs you want, photos from real sites, and a review routine at the end of every job, so the map sends the town's work.

    How it works
  • Mentions, measurement and AI answers

FMB and TrustMark listings matched, real directories, and the pages and markup that get you named when someone asks ChatGPT or Google AI for a builder. Search Console read by a person every month.

    How it works

Real numbers, from real trade clients

What a rebuilt site and a fixed profile did for two trade businesses

Not builders yet; a remapping garage and a tuning firm, with the same method we use for builders. Figures are Google's own or measured with free tools you can run yourself. The caveats are on the results page, because a results page without them is an advert.

How it works

Four weeks to live, then the part that compounds

  1. Week 1

    Audit and photo brief

We look at what you have, the builders above you in your town, and send a plain-English audit with a quote. If you go ahead, a one-page brief for what to photograph on the next job.

  2. Weeks 2 to 3

    Write and build

A call about the jobs you want more of and the ones you refuse. Then the pages, in your words, on our own stack. You see it on a private link before anyone else.

  3. Week 4

    Live, profile, indexing

The domain, the forms tested to your phone, Search Console, the Google profile matched to the site. The review routine set up for the next handover.

  4. Month 2 on

    The monthly work

For firms on a tier: a page or project a month, mentions, reviews, and the numbers read by a person. Nothing judged before day 28.

Who you are dealing with

A developer and SEO specialist, not a sales team

Daniel Stoychev builds the site, sets up the profile, reads the numbers and writes the report. Builder Web Design is a Webso Digital service run from Wrexham; the address, the phone and the ICO registration are in the footer of every page, because a builder is entitled to check us the way his customers check him.

  • No page builders, no plugins, no monthly template licence
  • Your photos and your words; we edit, we do not invent
  • You own the domain, the site and the content
  • Pricing on the website, the same for everyone
About us

What we will tell you if it is true

  • That your current site is fine and the profile is the problem.
  • That a town is already taken, before you spend anything.
  • That “builders in Manchester” is a two-year job, and what is winnable this year instead.
  • That your photos are the reason people do not ring, and how to fix that for nothing.

How your site looks to Google, in a minute

Quence is our free audit tool. Put in your address and it reads the site the way a crawler does: speed on a phone, which pages are indexed, titles, structured data, whether a form exists. Graded, with the fixes listed, on the screen rather than in your inbox.

Questions builders ask us

What does one builder per town mean?

We build for one builder per town on the website-plus-retainer work, because we cannot honestly push two firms for the same searches in the same place. Put your town on the quote form and the reply confirms it is free. If it is already taken, we say so and point you to someone we trust.

I get all my work from word of mouth. Why do I need a website?

Because the recommendation now ends with a Google search. The neighbour gives your name, the homeowner types it in, and what comes back decides whether they ring. No site, a dead Facebook page or a Checkatrade profile with three photos loses jobs you were already recommended for.

How much does a builder's website cost?

From £599 for a site with a page per kind of job, projects, about and a quote form; £1,200 for the full builder site of around fourteen to eighteen pages with hosting and a year of care included; £1,600 with the full SEO package built in. The first month of SEO is free with every package. Prices are on the pricing page and they are the same for everyone.

How long does it take?

Three to four weeks from the photo brief to live, most of which is waiting for your photos and your answers. The build itself is days. Then the profile work and the first Search Console data.

Can you get me on the first page of Google?

For your own name and your town, usually within weeks once the profile and the site agree. For 'builders in <town>' it depends on who is already there and takes months of pages, reviews and mentions. We say which in the audit rather than promise both.

Where are you, and does it matter?

Wrexham, and we work with builders anywhere in the UK. The site, the Google profile and the reviews do not need us on site. What matters is that we know what an extension job looks like from the client's side, and that you can phone a person.

Will you use my own photos?

Yes, and we insist on it. Stock photos of a smiling man in a hard hat lose to one honest photo of your last extension every time. We send a one-page brief for what to shoot on the next job.

See what is stopping your building business from ranking

Send us your website, or say you have none, and your town. You get a plain-English review of what a homeowner sees and what Google sees, and a fixed price. No pressure, no long contract.
